2Baba and Wife Natasha Osawaru Caught in Heated Exchange During Instagram Live
Afrobeats legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, stirred widespread reactions on Monday after a heated off-camera exchange interrupted an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.
The livestream featured two of 2Baba’s former management associates, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, who levelled allegations against Osawaru, accusing the Edo lawmaker of exerting excessive control over the singer’s personal and career decisions. They also referenced alleged past incidents of violent outbursts within the couple’s relationship, including a purported domestic disturbance during a UK trip.
Midway into the discussion, 2Baba unexpectedly joined the session, firmly warning his former managers to desist from discussing his private life. Shortly after his intervention, raised voices, believed to be those of the musician and his wife were heard in the background. The tension led to the abrupt end of the broadcast.
The incident has since fueled renewed scrutiny of the couple’s relationship, which has been under public watch since 2Baba announced his separation from actress Annie Idibia in January. He proposed to Osawaru in February, and the pair married in July.
Monday’s drama also revived earlier claims that the singer was briefly detained by police in the United Kingdom following an alleged altercation with Osawaru during his October tour. Though 2Baba previously denied the report explaining that he missed a scheduled performance due to a medical emergency the allegation resurfaced after the chaotic Instagram Live.
The couple are yet to issue an official statement regarding Monday’s incident.
