Tacha Kicks Off 24-Hour Guinness World Record Beauty Marathon in Lagos
Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has officially kicked off her 24-hour Guinness World Record (GWR) beauty marathon aimed at setting a new record for the most makeovers done in 24 hours.
The highly anticipated challenge began at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos, as part of the ongoing Tacha Beauty Festival, which runs from October 10 to 12, 2025.
According to her team, the record attempt involves 150 models, with Tacha and her crew performing nonstop makeovers over a 24-hour period — a first-of-its-kind feat in Nigeria’s beauty industry.
Before the marathon began, Tacha paused for a moment of reflection, paying a heartfelt tribute to her late mother. A banner displayed at the venue bore the words:
“Every makeover, every smile, every moment today is for you. Your legacy lives through me.”
The reality TV star was seen kneeling in front of the banner in an emotional prayer before officially starting the challenge.
The event drew a massive crowd, including fans, influencers, and celebrities such as Hilda Baci, Broda Shaggi, Dabota Lawson, Nons Miraj, Liquorose, Somadina Anyama, and Samuel Banks, who turned up to support Tacha’s record-breaking attempt.
Organisers ensured a coordinated process as models took turns for their makeovers, although some participants raised mild concerns about delayed meals due to the large turnout.
The session will continue throughout the night and conclude on Sunday, after which official documentation and video evidence will be submitted to Guinness World Records for verification.
