Chandler Moore, Naomi Raine Announce Exit from Maverick City Music

Fans of Maverick City Music were taken by surprise on Monday, October 6, 2025, as two of the collective’s most celebrated members, Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine announced their decision to part ways with the globally acclaimed gospel group.

Raine, who joined the worship collective in 2019, expressed gratitude for her journey with Maverick City Music, describing it as a time of spiritual growth and transformation.

“Every song I was part of came from a pure place, just me wanting to please God,” she wrote. “I’m still writing, still singing, still worshipping, just on my own.”

Her heartfelt announcement quickly went viral across social media platforms, with thousands of fans sending messages of love and support.

Almost simultaneously, Chandler Moore shared his own announcement, confirming his departure while opening up about his recent journey of healing. The “Jireh” singer revealed that he entered rehab in November 2023 and has been in recovery since.

Calling the decision “bittersweet,” Moore reflected on the past year as a season of renewal and self-discovery.

Moore rose to prominence among Nigerian gospel audiences through his collaboration with Nathaniel Bassey on the 2020 worship anthem “Olorun Agbaye (You Are Mighty)”, also featuring Oba. The cross-cultural song, blending English and Yoruba, became a global hit in churches worldwide.

Similarly, Raine has deepened her connection with the Nigerian gospel scene through her 2024 collaboration with Dunsin Oyekan on “The Future”, a powerful declaration of faith and purpose featured on Oyekan’s album The Great Commission.

Both singers emphasized that while they are moving on from Maverick City Music, their commitment to ministry, songwriting, and worship remains strong.

Their exits mark the end of an era for Maverick City Music, the Grammy-winning collective credited with reshaping modern gospel through its diversity, creativity, and heartfelt authenticity.
