Snoop Dogg Criticizes LGBTQ+ Scene in Disney’s Lightyear
Hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg has stirred debate after criticizing an LGBTQ+ scene in Disney and Pixar’s animated movie, Lightyear.
Speaking on the It’s Giving Podcast hosted by Sarah Fontenot, Snoop revealed that he took his grandson to see the film but was caught off guard by a moment showing two women raising a child together.
The rapper recalled how his grandson turned to him during the scene and asked, “Papa Snoop, how can she have a baby with another woman?”
Snoop admitted he was unprepared for the question, saying,“I didn’t come here for this; I just came to watch the movie. I’m worried about taking kids to the movies now, because they’re putting me in situations I don’t know how to explain.”
His comments reflect the challenge he faced in explaining complex topics like sexuality and family structures to children.
The remarks have since sparked mixed reactions online, reigniting conversations about LGBTQ+ representation in children’s entertainment. While some viewers praised Disney for promoting inclusivity, others shared Snoop’s concerns about whether such themes are appropriate for young audiences.
