Ozoro Incident: Delta CP Condemns Alleged Sexual Assault, Arrest Suspects, Orders Full-Scale Investigation
The Delta State Police Command has expressed grave concern over disturbing videos from Oramudu Quarters, Ozoro, which reportedly show the sexual assault and molestation of young women during a local event in Isoko North Local Government Area.
In a press release on Friday, March 20, 2026, the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, Asaba, SP Bright Edafe, the Command unequivocally condemned the acts, describing them as criminal, inhumane, and a gross violation of the fundamental rights and dignity of the victims.
Following the emergence of the videos, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, ordered an immediate investigation into the incident. The chief organiser, identified as Chief Omorede Sunday, alongside four other suspects, has been arrested.
The Commissioner has further directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for comprehensive investigation. Tactical and investigative teams have been deployed with a mandate to identify, apprehend, and prosecute all individuals involved.
The Command called on members of the public, particularly victims and witnesses, to come forward with useful information to aid ongoing investigations, assuring that all information will be treated with strict confidentiality and professionalism.
CP Aina also appealed to residents to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, reiterating the Command’s commitment to protecting lives, safeguarding citizens’ rights, and maintaining public order.
The Delta State Police Command reiterated its firm condemnation of the incident and assured that all perpetrators will be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
