Oborevwori Mourns Ex-Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, Describes Death as Huge Loss to Delta, Anioma Nation
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, describing the passage as a profound loss to Delta State, the Anioma nation, and Nigeria as a whole.
In a condolence message issued on his behalf by the Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the late senator as a proud son of Delta State and a fearless advocate of the Anioma cause, whose contributions to governance and nation-building would remain indelible.
Governor Oborevwori recalled Senator Nwaoboshi’s impactful service at the National Assembly, where he served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, noting that his strong voice and legislative advocacy for the development of the Niger Delta and Delta State distinguished him as a committed and passionate leader.
The governor further noted that the late lawmaker’s political journey was rooted in selfless service, courage, and democratic ideals, which also saw him serve meritoriously as a two-time Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State.
According to Oborevwori, Senator Nwaoboshi devoted his life to the service of his people, the party, and the nation, leaving behind a legacy defined by loyalty, resilience, and dedication to public service.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I mourn the passing of my dear friend, Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi,” the governor said.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Anioma people, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and all those whose lives were touched by the former senator.
Governor Oborevwori prayed for the repose of Senator Nwaoboshi’s soul and asked God to grant his family, friends, and political associates the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
