Christmas: Asagba of Asaba Distributes Rice, Cows, Goats to Indigenes of Asaba
His Royal Majesty, the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, has distributed bags of rice, live cows, and goats to indigenes of Asaba Kingdom as part of activities marking the 2025 Christmas celebration.
The distribution took place on Wednesday, December 18, 2025, at Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba, the traditional palace of the Asagba, and benefitted the five quarters that make up Asaba Kingdom, reinforcing the monarch’s commitment to welfare, unity, and inclusive leadership.
Speaking during the presentation, the revered monarch prayed for a peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year for all Asaba sons and daughters, urging those who are privileged to remember the less fortunate in society, especially during the festive season.
The Asagba emphasized that Christmas is a season of love, sharing, and compassion, calling on indigenes at home and in the diaspora to continue supporting community development and social harmony in Asaba Kingdom.
Also speaking, Chief P.N.C. Ndili, Ihonor Ike Ababa, announced that the 2025 Asaba Day celebration will hold on December 27, 2025, and called on all indigenes to participate actively in the annual cultural event.
In her remarks, Chief Josephine Anene Okeakwa, Ogoamaka Ahaba, disclosed that the Asagba had directed that ₦5 million realised from the Alor title-taking ceremony be used to procure rice for distribution to Asaba indigenes, further underscoring his people-oriented leadership.

50 bags of 50kg rice for Ikpoho Ogbe Ahaba (10 bags per quarter)

40 bags of 50kg rice for Asaba Kinsmen (8 bags per quarter)
25 bags of 50kg rice for Ikpoho Ogbe Ahaba (5 bags per quarter)
25 bags of 50kg rice for Okwulagwe Ahaba (5 bags per quarter)
The Okpala Ukwus, Isi Ikpoho Ogbe Ebos, and Isi Okwulagwe Ahaba expressed deep appreciation to the Asagba for the gesture, offering prayers for his continued wisdom, strength, and reign over Asaba Kingdom.
