Manchester City Inks £1 Billion Kit Deal with Puma
Manchester City has signed a monumental new kit deal with Puma, worth a staggering £1 billion ($1.34 billion) over the next decade.
This lucrative extension of their partnership cements the largest kit manufacturing agreement in Premier League history.
The new deal, reportedly worth £100 million annually until 2035, surpasses Manchester United’s £90 million per year agreement with Adidas signed in 2023.
This figure also puts City in the same league as Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, who are said to have kit deals exceeding £100 million per year.
City’s partnership with Puma, which began in 2019 with a £65 million per year deal, has been a resounding success. “We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond the expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons,” said Ferran Soriano, City Football Group chief executive.
“Puma have seamlessly integrated into our organisation, and we have enjoyed many historic moments together, engaging fans globally.” Puma chief executive Arthur Hoeld echoed Soriano’s sentiments, stating, “Puma’s partnership with Manchester City has been a great success both on and off the pitch. Trophies, a perfect stage for our performance products and commercial success were exceptional.”
The massive deal comes after City’s first season without major silverware since 2016-17, which saw them finish third in the Premier League, suffer a shock FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace, and exit the Club World Cup in the last 16 against Al-Hilal.
