Everton Signs Bournemouth Keeper Travers in £4m Deal
Everton has strengthened its goalkeeping department with the signing of Mark Travers from Bournemouth in a deal reportedly worth £4 million ($5.3 million).
The 26-year-old Ireland international has agreed to a four-year contract with the Premier League club.
Travers expressed his excitement about joining the Toffees, highlighting the club’s rich history and massive following. “I’m extremely proud and excited to be an Everton player. Coming in, you can feel how big this club is and the history that comes with it,” he said.
“You really feel that with the fanbase, the new stadium now as well and the direction the club is going in. It’s a really exciting time to be part of this massive football club and I just can’t wait to get going.”
Travers, who made 82 appearances for Bournemouth during his nine-year stint, will face competition from England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for the starting spot in David Moyes’ team.
The signing is timely, as Everton prepares to kick off the new season in their new stadium.
