Loss on the Holy Journey: Plateau Pilgrim Dies in Makkah
A pilgrim from Plateau State, Hajiya Jamila Muhammad, has passed away in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, during the ongoing Hajj pilgrimage.
The news was confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday by Mr. Daiyabu Dauda, the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Dauda explained that Hajiya Jamila died on Monday at King Abdul’aziz Hospital, Makkah, as a result of complications related to diabetes.
“When the complications began, we immediately took her to the hospital for proper medication in line with our mandate,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we lost her and the doctor at the hospital confirmed it was complications due to diabetes.”
Dauda added that the deceased has since been buried in Makkah according to Islamic rites.
He extended condolences to her immediate family and urged them to remain strong in their faith.
“We condole with her immediate family over the irreparable loss and urge them to take solace in God,” he said.
