Joke Silva Celebrates 64th Birthday as Fans Pay Tribute

Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva is being celebrated across social media as she marked her 64th birthday on Monday, September 29, 2025.

The legendary actress, fondly called “Mama J,” took to her verified Instagram handle @ajokesilva to share gratitude to God for her new age.

“Grateful Lord for your Mercy, your Faithfulness, for protection, for provision, for family, for friends, for colleagues. Thank you, King of Glory, for 64 amazing years,” she wrote in her post.

Her message drew a flood of warm wishes from fans, colleagues, and admirers who hailed her grace, longevity, and remarkable contributions to Nollywood.

Born on September 29, 1961, in Lagos, Joke Silva has built a career spanning decades, with notable appearances in films such as The Secret Laughter of Women (1998) and numerous English and Yoruba-language productions.

Her stellar career has earned her awards and recognition, including Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (2006), and she was honored with the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) in 2014.

In 2012, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime appointed her as a goodwill ambassador, further cementing her influence beyond the entertainment industry.
