Guwor Reaffirms Support for Youth at Social Media Forum


The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has applauded the organizers of the third edition of the Delta State Social Media Summit for their commitment to promoting sustainable development and job creation through digital platforms.

The Speaker, who was represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, delivered his goodwill message at the summit themed “Brand Delta, Grow Delta” in Asaba.

Guwor described social media as “a powerful tool for economic growth, political engagement, cultural promotion, and social awareness.” He noted that Delta State, blessed with rich resources and a vibrant youth population, must fully embrace modern technology to unlock its true potential.

According to him, social media presents vast opportunities to showcase the state’s investment prospects, cultural heritage, and human capital to a global audience.

He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to policies that enhance digital literacy, infrastructure development, and technology access, stressing that such measures would empower young people to thrive as entrepreneurs, content creators, and innovators.

“I urge all participants to take advantage of the summit to share ideas and build networks that will drive sustainable development and job creation in our state,” he said.
