BREAKING: INEC Sets February 20, 2027 for Presidential Election


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the official timetable for the 2027 general elections, setting crucial dates for political activities across the country.

According to the schedule, Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on Saturday, February 20, 2027, marking the start of the nation’s political calendar for the next electoral cycle. Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are slated for Saturday, March 6, 2027.

The timetable also outlines key preparatory phases, including party primaries, candidate submission deadlines, and nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) periods giving parties and voters a clear roadmap ahead.
