Tiwa Savage Unveils Foundation to Groom Africa’s Rising Music Talent
Nigeria’s global music superstar Tiwa Savage has officially launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a new initiative aimed at discovering, developing and empowering emerging music creatives across Africa.
The foundation was unveiled with a landmark partnership with the Berklee College of Music, bringing worldclass music education, mentorship and training to Nigerian soil, a first for the prestigious institution.
The foundation’s flagship programme, Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program, is set to take place in Lagos from April 23–26, 2026, offering a fully immersive fourday music education experience for 100 selected participants.
Speaking on the initiative, Tiwa Savage said the music industry needs more than performers to thrive globally, adding that her own educational experience at Berklee had profoundly shaped her career.
“Afrobeats has captured the world’s attention but an industry cannot stand on artists alone. Behind every global sound is an ecosystem, If we do not intentionally develop them, we weaken the very house we are trying to grow,” she said.
The foundation will open up access to structured training in performance, songwriting, music production and the business of music, connecting emerging talents with experienced industry professionals.
Participants are expected to gain realworld skills that bridge the gap between raw talent and professional success.
Savage’s initiative is seen as a major boost to Africa’s creative ecosystem, fostering youth empowerment and talent development on the continent.
