Sevilla Officially Sack Matías Almeyda as Head Coach

Sevilla FC have officially sacked Matías Almeyda as head coach with nine games remaining in the 2025-2026 La Liga season, the club has confirmed.

The decision follows a disappointing run of results for the Andalusian side, including a 0-2 home loss to Valencia, which left the team perilously close to the relegation zone. Almeyda’s tenure saw mixed fortunes after joining the club in June 2025 on a long-term deal.

An official club statement announced the coach’s departure, thanked him for his efforts, and wished him success in future projects. The Argentine had missed recent matches due to a lengthy suspension imposed by league authorities.
