Pope Francis’ Funeral Set for Saturday – Vatican

The Vatican on Tuesday announced that Pope Francis’ funeral will take place on Saturday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m. local time, which is 0800 GMT, at St. Peter’s Basilica.
The funeral liturgy in St. Peter’s Square will be presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re. Following the ceremony, the coffin will be taken inside St. Peter’s Basilica and then to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore for burial, as per the Pope’s wishes.
Pope Francis, aged 88, passed away on Easter Monday.
The Pope’s body will be moved to St. Peter’s Basilica on Wednesday, where mourners will pay their respects.
