Oborevwori Woos Investors, Orders Ubeji–Egbokodo – Refinery Road Fix
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has renewed his call for investors, especially Deltans at home and in the diaspora to take advantage of the state’s rapidly improving socio-economic environment and commit their resources to new ventures across the state.
The Governor made the call on Friday in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area, while inaugurating the newly built Swiss International Rancho Valerie Hotel, a multi-million-naira hospitality and tourism investment. He declared that “the time to invest in Delta State is now.”
According to Oborevwori, Warri’s economic revival is evident and accelerating.
“Warri is rising again, Delta State is progressing steadily. The shadows of yesterday have given way to the bright possibilities of today and the greater promises of tomorrow,” he said.
Describing the new hospitality project as a bold indicator of Warri’s rising economic profile, the Governor ordered the immediate rehabilitation of failed sections of the Ubeji/Egbokodo/Refinery Road to support accessibility and commercial growth in the area.
Oborevwori said the hotel reflects renewed investor confidence in Delta State and reaffirms Warri’s position as a commercial and tourism hub. He added that the establishment will not only offer premium accommodation services but also stimulate local business activities, enhance community peace, generate employment, and boost the state’s socio-economic development.
He emphasized: “This hotel is not just another project; it is a clear statement that Delta State is open for business. It affirms that our state is safe, investor-friendly, and capable of hosting world-class hospitality and tourism ventures.”
Governor Oborevwori praised the hotel’s owner, Mr. Mode Akoma, describing the project as an inspiring demonstration of vision and dedication. He commended Akoma for choosing to invest in his home community.
“If you had invited me to commission a hotel you built outside Delta State, I would not have attended. But I am proud that you chose to develop your community. This project brings jobs, brings peace, and brings progress,” he stated.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal, security enhancement, and investor-friendly reforms under the MORE Agenda, Oborevwori expressed optimism that projects like the hotel will continue to unlock the state’s vast investment potential.
Earlier in his address, the General Manager of the hotel, Mr. Todowede Opeyemi, said the facility is positioned to offer top-tier hospitality services that meet international standards. He added that the management is determined to contribute to Delta State’s tourism growth.
“Every guest who visits us deserves more than just a stay; they deserve an unforgettable experience, one that reflects our culture, our hospitality, and our warmth as a people,” Opeyemi said.
