Nwaka inspects Adonte-Ogwashi Uku Road Project, Tasks Contractor on Early Completion


The Member Representing Aniocha South in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Angela Nwaka has asked the contractor handling the earth work and upgrading of the Adonte-Ogwashi Uku road project to expedite work on it and ensure its completion before heavy rains set in.

Hon Nwaka who gave the charge while inspecting level of work on the project being executed under the SEEFOR-World Bank assisted project, said the socio-economic importance of the Adonte-Ogwashi Uku road can not be overemphasized and stressed the need for its early completion.

The Lawmaker noted that the inspection was part of her commitment on behalf of the state government to ensure smooth execution of the project as well as its completion in time to allow for free flow of traffic in the locality.

Hon Nwaka while commending the speed of work on the road project and expressed satisfaction over the development, urged the firm handling it to maintain standards and quality as the road was key to social and economic wellbeing of the people.

At a meeting with representatives of the Adonte community who got hint of the inspection visit and turned out to be a part of it, Hon Nwaka assured the people of the commitment of the state government towards enhancing the quality of life of Deltans.

The Lawmaker pledged her commitment to the completion of the Adonte-Ogwashi Uku road project and commended the community for contributing it counter part funds in line with the partnership arrangement in the SEEFOR-World Bank Assisted Scheme.

Hon Nwaka charged the people to sustain their support to the PDP led administration in the state, assuring them of governor Ifeanyi Okowa commitment to promoting peace and good governance in the state.

The Adonte community representatives thanked Hon Nwaka for the inspection, assuring her that the people were working with the contractor at ensuring smooth execution of the project.
