‘None Can Spell Pomeranian’ – DJ Cuppy on Why She’s Still Single

Nigerian disc jockey and philanthropist Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has expressed frustration over still being single at the age of 33, despite her career and academic accomplishments.

The billionaire’s daughter took to her social media platforms to share that, although she has many admirers, none of them have impressed her. According to the entertainer, one recurring issue is that her suitors have poor spelling skills.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday quoted DJ Cuppy as saying:

“Making it big… but mother of Dúdú and FünFün, no husband, with plenty suitors in my DMs and none can even spell Pomeranian.”

She noted that this is ironic, as she has previously admitted to struggling with spelling herself, despite graduating from Oxford University.

DJ Cuppy has been open about her desire to get married. She previously revealed that she often reminds God of her single status whenever she comes across other people’s wedding photos online.

The entertainer called off her engagement to British boxer Ryan Taylor in 2023. In addition to her music career, she is recognised for her philanthropy and was recently named a 2025 Goalkeeper by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
