Nollywood Actor Charles Ugochukwu Slams Lagos Churches for Reserving Seats for Latecomers
Nollywood actor Charles Ugochukwu has called out certain practices in Lagos churches, particularly the culture of reserving prime seats for latecomers while punctual worshippers are relegated to the back.
Ugochukwu expressed his disapproval in a recent statement, describing the practice as unfair and discouraging to members who make the effort to arrive early for church services.
“You say service starts at 9am, but you reserve the first three rows of seats for people who stroll into church at 10:30am. Meanwhile, those who showed up at 8:30am (thirty minutes before service time) are made to sit behind. Please make it make sense,” he said.
According to the actor, such treatment sends the wrong message to dedicated church members and undermines the discipline of punctuality. He stressed that churches should promote fairness and respect for time rather than creating a culture that rewards lateness.
