Nigeria Police to Recruit 50,000 Constables, Free Online Application
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially opened the recruitment portal for 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), as part of efforts to strengthen national security and expand the force’s manpower. The initiative, directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizes transparency, merit, and professionalism in the selection process.
According to the PSC, qualified Nigerians can apply online starting Monday, December 15, 2025, with the portal remaining open until Sunday, January 25, 2026. The commission stressed that the recruitment process is completely free, warning applicants to avoid fraudsters who may solicit money in exchange for offers.
“This recruitment is a pivotal step toward enhancing internal security and fostering a more responsive police service,” the PSC said. “All selections will be merit-based, with no room for influence or favoritism.”
Who Can Apply?
The recruitment targets two main categories: General Duty and Specialists.
General Duty Cadre:
- Minimum of five credits in GCE O-Level, SSCE, or NECO (including English and Mathematics) in no more than two sittings
- Age: 18–25 years
- Height: 1.67m for males, 1.64m for females
- No criminal record; character references required
- Specialists Cadre (e.g., drivers, mechanics, medical aides):
- Minimum of four credits in GCE O-Level, SSCE, or NECO (including English and Mathematics) in no more than two sittings
- Minimum of three years relevant experience with Trade Test certification
- Skills in ICT, engineering, or healthcare will be prioritized

- Complete the online form and upload necessary documents, including birth certificate, educational certificates, and passport photographs
- Submit the application and print the acknowledgment slip for future reference
The PSC reiterated that all shortlisting and notifications will be conducted via official channels only. Successful candidates will be informed through the portal, ensuring a transparent and credible recruitment process.
