Nathaniel Bassey Warns Married Men, Young Women Over Secret Affairs
Popular Nigerian gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has issued a stern warning to married men who deceive young women into relationships outside marriage, declaring that such actions will bring serious consequences this year.
The message, delivered in a recent sermon that has since gone viral online, cautioned men who present themselves as single and engage in relationships, including overnight stays with young women under false pretences.
Bassey said: “If you’re a married man and you go about deceiving young girls, leading them on. Some even go as far as sleeping with them. I place a demand on the grace of God upon my life. If you try it this year you won’t survive.”
He added that men who hide their marital status and take women to hotels could face public disgrace and divine consequences:
“Your shame will not be forgotten. It will be on social media. If you take a woman to a hotel, you lie, meanwhile you are married, you will not come out from that hotel.”
Bassey also directed his warning at women who knowingly engage with married men for material gain or attention, emphasising personal responsibility and moral conduct.
He said: “You know in your heart that he is married, but because of greed, because of attention, you want to carry bag. If you try it, you won’t survive it.”
The sermon has sparked widespread conversation on social media, with supporters praising the spiritual guidance and others debating the directness of his message.
Bassey, known for leading the annual Hallelujah Challenge and other high-profile Christian ministries, often shares messages that blend spiritual admonition with practical life advice.
