Igbenije Inspects Ongoing DESOPADEC Zonal Office Project in Agbor

Hon. Cosmas Igbenije has begun oversight of development projects in Ika Nation with an inspection of the ongoing Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Zonal Office project in Agbor, days after his inauguration as the Board Member representing the area.

During the inspection on Friday, July 24, 2026, Igbenije assessed the progress of work and expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction, while stressing the importance of strict compliance with approved specifications, quality standards and timely completion.

He said the Agbor Zonal Office would improve DESOPADEC’s operational efficiency and bring the Commission’s services closer to people in Ika Nation and other benefiting communities within the zone.

Igbenije reaffirmed the commitment of the DESOPADEC Governing Board, led by Chairman Olorogun John Nani and Managing Director/CEO, Chief Festus Ochonogor, to delivering impactful development projects in line with the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Government.

He assured stakeholders that he would continue to monitor ongoing projects and champion initiatives that promote socio-economic development across Ika Nation.

The inspection comes just days after Igbenije was sworn in as DESOPADEC Board Member representing Ika Nation following his appointment by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
