Elon Musk’s Father Faces Allegations of Abuse from Family Members
Errol Musk, the father of tech billionaire Elon Musk, is facing serious allegations of sexual abuse from five of his children and stepchildren, according to a New York Times report published on Tuesday.
According to the report, the allegations date back to 1993, when a four-year-old stepdaughter reportedly informed relatives that Errol Musk had inappropriately touched her at the family home. The woman later claimed she witnessed him sniffing her soiled underwear. Other family members have accused him of abusing two daughters and a stepson.
The New York Times cited court records, social-work notes, correspondence, and interviews, stating that Errol Musk, who has at least nine children and stepchildren from three marriages, “maintains a powerful grip over much of the family.” Two previous investigations reportedly closed without charges, while the status of a third remains unclear.
Errol Musk has denied all allegations, calling them “nonsense” and “false.” He suggested that some family members were being coached to make claims in an effort to extort his eldest son, Elon Musk. “There was no evidence because this is nonsense. The reports are false,” he said, accusing relatives of manipulating the children to make false statements.
Elon Musk did not comment on the New York Times report. However, he has previously spoken about his strained relationship with his father. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Elon described Errol as having done “almost every evil thing you could possibly think of” and recounted living with him at age 10 while his siblings stayed with their mother.
“I felt sorry for my father, because my mother had all three kids. He seemed very sad and lonely by himself. So I thought, ‘I can be company,’” Elon said. He added, “I didn’t really understand at the time what kind of person he was … It was not a good idea.” He also remarked that his father “will have a carefully thought-out plan of evil. He will plan evil.”
