DESOPADEC Completes NYSC Corpers’ Lodge in Ndokwa East

The Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) has completed the construction of a modern NYSC Corpers’ Lodge at Akarai Obodo in Ndokwa East Local Government Area, aimed at improving the welfare of Corps members serving in the community.

The completed facility is part of DESOPADEC’s efforts to provide quality infrastructure and improve living conditions for Corps members across oil-producing communities in Delta State.

Speaking during an inspection of the project, the DESOPADEC Governing Board Member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality, Dr. Charles Olisa, KSM, JP, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work delivered.

Olisa commended the contractor for complying with the Commission’s specifications, contractual terms and project timeline.

He said the project reflects the Commission’s commitment to delivering infrastructure that addresses the needs of communities within its mandate areas.

“This NYSC Corpers’ Lodge at Akarai Obodo is the outcome of continuous engagement with community leaders and other critical stakeholders. It reflects the Board’s commitment to listening to the people and delivering infrastructure that addresses their most pressing needs,” Dr. Olisa stated.

He added that the project aligns with the M.O.R.E Agenda of the Delta State Government, particularly its focus on infrastructure development, human capital development and inclusive growth.

Olisa further disclosed that other projects in Ndokwa East LGA are nearing completion. They include the construction of an assembly hall at Oduga Secondary School, Ushie; fencing of Aboh Grammar School, Aboh; and an ultra-modern civic centre at Agwetiti.

He assured residents that more projects would be delivered across communities in the Ndokwa ethnic nationality as DESOPADEC continues its development interventions.

The new NYSC lodge is expected to provide improved accommodation and welfare for Corps members posted to Akarai Obodo and neighbouring communities, while supporting effective youth service delivery and local development.
