Delta Government Approves Automatic Master’s, PhD Scholarships for Best Graduating Students Across State Universities

The Delta State Government has approved automatic scholarship awards for the best graduating students of the four state-owned universities, reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence and youth development.

The initiative, endorsed by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, provides full funding for outstanding graduates to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees in accredited Nigerian universities.

Executive Secretary of the Delta State Scholarship Board, Dr. Godfrey Enita, announced the approval in a statement, noting that the initiative is a key component of the Governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, which prioritises youth empowerment, educational advancement, and human capital development.

According to Dr. Enita, beneficiaries will emerge from: Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU), University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL), Southern Delta University, Ozoro (SDU), and Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba (DOU).

Each academic session will produce one automatic scholarship recipient per university, awarded strictly to the overall best graduating student.

Dr. Enita further explained that recipients will undergo the standard scholarship processing and documentation but will enjoy seamless access to funding to advance their postgraduate studies.

He added that the Scholarship Board remains committed to building a competitive and globally equipped young population in Delta State through strategic investments in education.
