Delta Govt Begins Second Batch Pension Certificate Collection

The Delta State Government has announced the commencement of collection of the second batch of certificates for the payment of retirees’ accrued rights and harmonized pension benefits for pensioners in the state civil service.

According to a government special announcement, the development is a follow-up to earlier notices issued on March 3 and March 6, 2026.

The government disclosed that the list of affected retirees will be published in The Pointer Newspaper on Thursday, May 14, 2026, for eligible pensioners to verify their names.

Pensioners whose names appeared in the March 6 publication but are yet to collect their certificates were advised to visit the appropriate bureau immediately for collection.

The statement further revealed that pension entitlements for retirees covered in the current payment exercise have already been remitted to their respective Retirement Savings Accounts (RSAs).

To collect the certificates, retirees and representatives are required to present specified documents, including passport photographs and valid means of identification such as National Identification Number (NIN), voter’s card, driver’s licence or international passport.

Special provisions were also outlined for representatives of indisposed retirees and next-of-kin of deceased pensioners, including authorization letters and identification documents.

The Delta State Government urged affected pensioners and family representatives to comply with the requirements to ensure a smooth collection process.
