Delta Investment Summit: Chukwudi Enebeli SAN Seeks One-Stop Centre for Investors
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chukwudi Enebeli, has called on the Delta State Government to establish an investor support centre to guide, protect and assist investors throughout the investment process.
Speaking at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026, Enebeli said attracting investors alone is not enough, stressing that the state must also create systems that make it easier for them to do business.
According to him, a dedicated investor support centre would serve as a one-stop hub where investors can access legal, regulatory and professional guidance needed to establish and grow their businesses in Delta State.
“While we are calling on investors to come, we must put structures in place to protect them.”
He explained that the centre should provide information on business registration, taxation, resident permits, environmental regulations, water permits and compliance with Nigeria’s anti-money laundering laws.
Enebeli said such support would help investors understand the country’s legal and regulatory environment, reduce bureaucratic challenges and improve investor confidence.
The legal practitioner also urged the state to promote local content by ensuring qualified Delta professionals play active roles in investment transactions.
According to him, indigenous lawyers and other professionals should be engaged in preparing transaction documents, public-private partnership agreements, financing arrangements and other legal services required by investors.
He noted that the initiative would not only strengthen investor confidence but also create employment opportunities for young professionals across the state.
Enebeli further recommended introducing investors to available arbitration and dispute resolution mechanisms to help them resolve commercial disputes quickly and minimise business risks.
“The question is not when you will need a lawyer. The question is how early you will need a lawyer. And the answer is now.”
He concluded by urging stakeholders to ensure that Delta’s investment drive creates lasting benefits for the state’s people.
“Let us therefore keep at the back of our minds that this project should truly be a project of Delta, by Deltans, for Deltans.”
