Bobrisky Questions Lawmakers’ Silence on Benue Killings
Nigerian celebrity Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, has expressed disappointment with the Nigerian Senate over its perceived silence on the recent violent killings in Benue State.
In an Instagram post, Bobrisky criticized lawmakers for their swift response to his legal issues while remaining seemingly indifferent to the ongoing bloodshed in Benue.
“Senator/House representative didn’t call urgent meeting over the killing happening in Benue. Senator/House representative didn’t call an urgent meeting over the killing happening in Benue. But they can call an urgent meeting when it comes to Bobrisky. Shame, shame!!!! Shame!!!.What a shameful country,” he wrote.
The media personality’s comments come after he faced charges in court earlier this year for abusing Naira notes, courtesy of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). There were reports that he didn’t serve time in prison despite being found guilty.
Meanwhile, Nigerians on social media are calling on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in Benue State following reports of 200 deaths in a two-day rampage by suspected herders.
Many are drawing comparisons to the suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the declaration of a state of emergency in March 2025, questioning the government’s priorities.
