Apple Agrees to Compensate Some iPhone Users Over AI Feature Lawsuit
Some iPhone users in the United States could receive payouts of up to $95 after Apple Inc agreed to a $250 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit over allegations that the company falsely advertised artificial intelligence features tied to Siri and “Apple Intelligence.”
The lawsuit alleged that Apple promoted advanced AI-powered Siri capabilities during the launch of the iPhone 16 series and select iPhone 15 models in 2024, despite several of the advertised features not being available at release.
According to reports, eligible users include U.S. customers who purchased iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max devices between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. Compensation is expected to range from about $25 to as much as $95 per device, depending on the number of approved claims.
Apple denied wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case to avoid prolonged litigation. The company stated it remains focused on innovation and delivering new features to customers.
The settlement still requires court approval before payments can be distributed to affected users.
