Warri, Effurun Residents Jubilate as Governor Oborevwori Inspects Multi-Billion Naira Flyover Projects
It was a scene of massive jubilation and emotional encomiums on Monday as residents, traders, and motorists in Effurun and Warri trooped out to welcome the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, during his inspection of landmark infrastructure projects across the metropolis.
The Governor, who opted to walk through the Enerhen Junction to personally assess the progress, was greeted by cheering crowds who described him as the “People’s Governor.” The residents expressed profound gratitude for the ongoing construction of the DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction Flyovers, as well as the reconstruction of the Warri/Sapele/Benin Road.
The elated citizens, while showering praises on the Governor for “doing wonders” in the Warri/Effurun axis, pledged their massive support and votes for his 2027 second-term bid, praying for continued divine guidance as he advances the state’s development.

Addressing journalists after his walk-through, Governor Oborevwori expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work delivered by the construction giant, Julius Berger. He emphasized that these strategic interventions are designed to permanently end the perennial traffic gridlock and improve the socioeconomic lives of the people.
“I know what the people have gone through, and I feel their pain. But when there is pain, there will be enjoyment at the end of the project. The Warri and Effurun people are very happy as you can see,” the Governor stated.
In a move to prioritize the comfort of the people during the festive season, the Governor revealed he had secured an agreement with Julius Berger to temporarily open key sections of the flyovers.
“I appealed to Julius Berger that because of Christmas and New Year, they should make sure that the flyovers are temporarily opened for use, because these areas are very important to the people,” he added. He noted that one side of the Enerhen flyover and both sides of the DSC flyover have been opened to ease traffic for the holidays.
Governor Oborevwori expressed optimism that the three flyovers and the road dualization projects would be fully completed during the current dry season, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure to Deltans.
