US Flags 19 More Nigerians for Deportation, Total Hits 113
The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has added 19 additional Nigerian nationals to its “worst-of-the-worst” criminal offenders list and is moving forward with deportation proceedings, bringing the total number of Nigerians slated for removal to 113.
According to official information published on the DHS website, those newly listed were convicted of a range of serious offences including sexual assault of a minor, fraud, assault, drug trafficking and money laundering.
The individuals were arrested by officials of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and are expected to be deported after completing necessary immigration procedures.
A statement on the list emphasised that those on it are foreign nationals with criminal convictions taken into custody as part of ongoing enforcement efforts.
Among the names added are Adeolu Solabu, Oladayo Agboola, Chinonso Ochie, Oluchi Jennifer Chimdimma Chime, Samuel Omorodion, Sunday Adediora, Sunday Kunkushi and Mkpouto Etukudoh. Other listed Nigerians include Marcus Unigwe, Kehinde James, Blessing Uchanma, Victor Adebisi, Richard Ugbah, Olaniyi Ojikutu, Oluwamuyiwa Olawoye, Okechukwu Amadi, Femi Jolayemi, Anthony Asanya, Izuchukwu Okoye and Ebele Agbasiele.
The updated listing reflects a continued crackdown by U.S. authorities on criminal and undocumented migrants, with Nigerian nationals disproportionately featured among those targeted for deportation.
