Tompolo Mourns Passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari
High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), has expressed his heartfelt condolences on the demise of Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In his tribute, Tompolo who is the Ibe-Ebidouwei of the Ijaw Nation, described Buhari as a disciplined, patriotic leader who served the nation with commitment and honor during his presidency from 2015 to 2023.
He noted Buhari’s simplicity and contentment with the blessings bestowed upon him, emphasizing the former President’s character as one not driven by materialism.
Tompolo highlighted Buhari’s dedication to appointing individuals of integrity, goodwill, and energy to serve the country—an ethos that led to the engagement of TSSNL in 2022 to provide surveillance for vital oil and gas infrastructure at a time when Nigeria’s petroleum assets were under threat. This strategic intervention has since contributed to a significant recovery and ongoing growth in oil production.
“His contributions to national unity and peace will be deeply missed by Nigerians,” Tompolo stated.
He concluded with a message of sympathy to the Nigerian people, the family of the late President, and his close associates, praying for Buhari’s soul to find eternal rest.
