Police Debunk Viral Poster Claiming Iyabo Ojo Is Wanted
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has dismissed a viral poster alleging that Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Iyabo Ojo is wanted by the authorities.
The widely circulated poster suggested that a bounty had been placed for information leading to her arrest. However, the police on Thursday issued a statement via their official social media channels, describing the publication as fake and misleading.
According to the statement, “the Nigeria Police Force wishes to clarify that the recent Wanted Person Bulletin circulating about stating that the Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, is wanted by the Office of The IGP Monitoring Unit is NOT an official communication from the Force. The Nigeria Police Force urges members of the public to verify information through official channels and be cautious of misinformation.”
The clarification comes in the wake of allegations made by controversial social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who claimed Iyabo Ojo and others attempted to frame singer Naira Marley for the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad).
