Dr. Okorodudu made the call on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, when he received delegations from the South-South Youth Assembly (SSYA) and the Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS) at the Commission’s headquarters in Warri.
In his remarks, the DESOPADEC Projects Director commended youths for their contributions to governance and urged them to remain committed to the state’s progress.
“Thank you for the support you have been giving to our amiable Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. Any support for him is a support for me. I have been an integral part of his political movement right from the onset. I urge you to carry the message of his successes to our people in the grassroots and continue to galvanize support for him,” he said.
Dr. Okorodudu stressed the importance of youth participation in nation-building, noting that young people remain the backbone of every society.
“Youths are the most vibrant segment of every human existence. They constitute the larger workforce of every country,” he affirmed.

Earlier, the spokesperson of the South-South Youth Assembly, Comr. Lucky Otidi, said the visit was to align with Dr. Okorodudu and commend his contributions to humanitarian causes. He explained that the group’s grassroots mobilization efforts for Governor Oborevwori were aimed at correcting negative perceptions and ensuring that citizens were properly informed about the government’s developmental strides.
“We want to, as much as possible, correct the narrative of wrong perceptions. We shall continue to inform our people of the good intentions of His Excellency,” Otidi said.
In a related development, members of the Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS), led by Rev. Joseph Boyid, also visited the EDP to solicit support for equipment that would enhance their operations.
“We are here, Sir, to solicit support from the Commission to enable us purchase some equipment such as walkie-talkies, vehicles, and other materials that will enhance our duties,” Boyid stated.
In response, Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu acknowledged their bold initiative but directed them to formally channel their request through the DESOPADEC Managing Director/CEO, Chief Festus Ochonogor, for proper consideration.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a letter of award for humanitarian service to Dr. Okorodudu by the visiting groups in recognition of his contributions to community development. The event was attended by several dignitaries and staff of DESOPADEC.
