Okorodudu Restates Commitment to Staff Training and Professional Growth
The Executive Director, Projects (EDP), Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, has reiterated the Commission’s unwavering commitment to staff training, retraining, and professional capacity building.
Dr. Okorodudu gave the assurance on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, when the executive members of the Nigeria Association of Technological Engineers (NATE), Warri Branch, paid him a courtesy visit at the Commission’s office in Warri.
He stressed that continuous learning remains the foundation of human capital development, noting that while academic degrees provide the basis, exposure to conferences, workshops, and seminars sharpens staff competence and ensures higher productivity within DESOPADEC.
“The Commission shall continue to encourage every staff member to participate in the capacity building of their professional bodies through AGMs, conferences, and seminars,” he said.
Dr. Okorodudu commended NATE Warri Branch for recognizing DESOPADEC as an institution that promotes professional growth and expressed gratitude for their selfless commitment to the welfare of their members.
“Your coming here is selfless, focused on how to move your members forward in the course of their duties. I thank you for pursuing the welfare of your members,” he added.
He further reassured them that their appeal for sponsorship would be forwarded to the DESOPADEC Managing Director/CEO, Chief Festus Ochonogor, for due consideration.
Earlier in his address, the NATE Warri Branch Chairman, Engr. Ovobor Okpakowoel, alongside the Treasurer, Engr. Sagay Blessing, presented a formal letter requesting DESOPADEC’s sponsorship for members working in the Commission to attend the Association’s annual AGM, conferences, and seminars.
Engr. Sagay highlighted the benefits of such sponsorship, noting that it would create career synergy among engineers across various fields, provide opportunities for members to develop technical and leadership skills through workshops and mentorship, and enhance staff contributions to the success of DESOPADEC’s mandate.
He also lauded the developmental strides of the DESOPADEC Board, led by Chairman Hon. Barr. John Obukokwho Nani and MD/CEO Chief Festus Ochonogor, for the unprecedented development projects delivered to oil-producing communities in Delta State.
The event climaxed with the presentation of an Award of Recognition for Outstanding Performance to Dr. Okorodudu by the NATE Warri Branch Chairman, Engr. Ovobor Okpakowoel.
