Stakeholders in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State have passed a vote of confidence on the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The endorsement was made on Wednesday during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by members of HOSTCOM, Presidents General of Ndokwa East clans, Community Development Committee (CDC) chairmen and other community leaders.
The meeting was convened by Dr. Charles Olisa, the member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the DESOPADEC Governing Board.
Addressing the gathering, Olisa highlighted ongoing projects and programmes executed by DESOPADEC across Ndokwa communities, including infrastructure development, social empowerment initiatives and environmental sustainability programmes.
Stakeholders at the meeting commended Olisa for what they described as his accessibility and commitment to engaging with the grassroots.
They also praised the development impact of DESOPADEC in the area and expressed confidence in the leadership of Governor Oborevwori and President Tinubu.
The vote of confidence was moved by Chief Prince Richard Obi and seconded by Chief Sunday Okiah, while the Chairman of HOSTCOM, Pastor Samuel Enebeli, and other leaders endorsed the decision.
Olisa, in his remarks, urged community leaders to continue promoting peace, protecting oil facilities and maintaining a harmonious relationship with oil companies operating in the area.
He also assured that Governor Oborevwori’s “MORE Agenda” and President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Initiative” remain focused on improving development and economic opportunities for oil-producing communities.
According to him, DESOPADEC will continue to prioritize projects that support sustainable development and community empowerment in Ndokwa Nation.
