Mulade Commends Oborevwori’s Projects, Urges LG Chairmen to Step Up
Renowned human and development advocate, Comrade Mulade Sheriff, PhD, has commended Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as sweeping infrastructural development across Delta State’s urban centres.
Mulade, the Ibe-Sorimowei of the ancient oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West LGA, described the ongoing projects as an “infrastructural revolution in the upland of the state.”
While applauding the governor’s efforts, the peace ambassador and environmental rights activist urged the 25 Local Government Area (LGA) chairmen to replicate similar development initiatives at the grassroots level to ensure broader impact.
“It is imperative to state that most Deltans do not feel, neither experience the developmental efforts of the government at the local level, except they travel to the major city centres,” he noted.
Mulade also appealed for greater attention to riverine communities, stating:
“I want to strongly appeal and urge Governor Oborevwori to consider and prioritize riverine areas development, especially the long expected Ayakoromo bridge which many Deltans believed should be among the ongoing flyover projects by the state government, and the proposed Burutu – Forcados – Ogulagha Road project which is one of the most economically viable projects that will increase the state internally generated revenue, and lots more”
He further charged council chairmen to demonstrate leadership and boldness in delivering impactful projects:
“The council chairmen should be courageous and bold enough to embark on significant legacy economy-driven projects in their various council areas to boost economy growth rather than hiding under Governor Oborevwori’s development projects. It is worthy of note that our councils have enough resources and funds to carry out people-oriented projects that will compliment the effort of the state government, and write their names in gold”
Mulade emphasized that strategic investments at the local government level would complement the state government’s development agenda and accelerate economic growth across Delta.
