Liverpool Nears Frimpong Signing

Liverpool is making progress in negotiations to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s right-back Jeremie Frimpong, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

In a statement on Tuesday via X, Romano disclosed that the Premier League club has taken significant steps toward securing the Dutch defender.

This development includes initiating discussions with Leverkusen about the structure of Frimpong’s €35 million release clause.

“Liverpool are advancing in talks to sign Jeremie Frimpong after contacts reported last week,” Romano stated. “Understand #LFC approached Bayer Leverkusen to discuss €35m release clause structure.”

Romano also revealed that discussions are underway with the player’s representatives, with Frimpong expressing strong interest in joining Liverpool. “Talks also underway on player side with Frimpong keen on joining Liverpool,” he said.

Frimpong was instrumental in Leverkusen’s successful Bundesliga campaign and has attracted interest from several top European clubs.
