Breaking News: DSS Dismisses 115 Personnel in Major Internal Reform, Warns Public Against Fraudulent Impersonators
The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed a major internal disciplinary action, announcing the dismissal of 115 personnel as part of its ongoing comprehensive reforms aimed at strengthening professionalism, integrity, and public trust within the agency.
The sweeping announcement, which revealed the personnel dismissals over an unspecified period, was coupled with an urgent public advisory warning citizens against the fraudulent activities of former staff members who continue to impersonate the Service’s operatives.
Specifically, the DSS singled out the duo of Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, whose cases had previously necessitated public disclaimers due to their alleged unscrupulous activities, including using the agency’s name to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
“Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any official dealing with these individuals who have been dismissed by the Service,” the statement read, urging citizens to exercise extreme caution and verify the identity of anyone claiming to be a DSS operative.
To ensure clarity and transparency, the Service has taken the critical step of publishing the identities of all affected persons on its official website, linking directly to the full list (https://dss.gov.ng/media/more/4).
The DSS urged the public to direct all legitimate requests, enquiries, or complaints to its verified communication channels, including the dedicated telephone line 09088373515 or the official email address: [email protected].
