Ashibogwu Takes Over as Delta Secondary Education Commissioner

Delta State Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, has formally taken over the mantle of leadership from the former Commissioner for Secondary Education, Chief Rose Ezewu, pledging to initiate reforms aimed at strengthening secondary education across the state.

Speaking shortly after the handover ceremony, Dr. Ashibogwu expressed appreciation to Chief Ezewu for her service and contributions to the development of secondary education in the State, noting that her efforts laid a foundation upon which further progress would be built.

He assured stakeholders that his administration would focus on policies and programmes designed to improve teaching quality, learning outcomes, and the overall management of secondary schools in the state.

According to him, priority would be given to infrastructure development, teacher capacity building, and improved student welfare to ensure a more robust and competitive education system.

Dr. Ashibogwu also used the opportunity to thank Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the confidence reposed in him by giving him another opportunity to serve the state. He described the appointment as a call to greater responsibility and reaffirmed his commitment to aligning the ministry’s goals with the Governor’s MORE Agenda for the education sector.

“I am grateful to His Excellency, the Governor, for this opportunity to serve again. I see this as a renewed mandate to work harder and deliver meaningful reforms that will positively impact our secondary education system,” he said.

He called for the cooperation and support of ministry staff, education stakeholders, and the public, stressing that sustainable reforms could only be achieved through collective efforts.

The ceremony marked a new phase in the administration of secondary education in Delta State, with expectations high that the promised reforms would translate into improved standards and outcomes for students across the state.
