Allegri Returns to AC Milan with Ambition to Restore Glory
Massimiliano Allegri has vowed to revive AC Milan’s former glory as he begins his second spell as manager of the Italian giants.
After a decade away, Allegri returns to the Rossoneri with a clear objective: to guide the team back to the Champions League.
Following a disappointing season that saw Milan finish eighth in the league and miss out on European qualification, Allegri’s appointment is seen as a coup for the club.
His experience and success in Italian football, including winning the Scudetto with Milan in 2011 and five consecutive titles with Juventus, make him an ideal candidate to restore the team’s fortunes.
“The goal for this season is to return to the Champions League as a club like AC Milan has to play in Europe,” Allegri told reporters in Singapore, where his team will face Arsenal in a pre-season friendly.
“This is the sole objective for me from the get-go. These are the games the team lives for. We’re not going to look back, but we are looking forward to the future now.”
Allegri’s return marks a new chapter for Milan, and he believes that recent signing Luka Modric will play a key role in the team’s success.
The 39-year-old Croatian midfielder, who won the Ballon d’Or in 2018, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team.
“Modric is a proven champion who does not need any introduction,” Allegri said. “He is a role model not only from the discipline but technical perspective.”
With Modric on board, Allegri is confident that Milan can return to its former glory. “The overall goal remains the same, and that is to get this club back to where it belongs, and that is the Champions League,” he said.
As Milan prepares for the new season, Allegri’s message is clear: the team will focus on the future and work towards achieving its goal of returning to European competition.
