Air Peace Confirms Bird Strike as Cause of Flight Disruptions
Air Peace has confirmed a bird strike incident involving its Lagos to Port Harcourt flight, which occurred upon arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Thursday.
In a statement issued via its official X page, the airline said the incident has resulted in operational disruptions across its network, as safety checks are being conducted on the affected aircraft.
“We wish to inform our esteemed passengers that the our Lagos to Port Harcourt flight this morning, encountered a bird strike upon arrival at the Port Harcourt International airport,” the statement read.
According to the airline, the development made it necessary to deploy another aircraft to convey passengers scheduled for subsequent flights.
“This has necessitated checks on the affected aircraft and the deployment of another aircraft to convey passengers of subsequent flights on our network,” Air Peace added.
The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers, assuring them that efforts are underway to limit further disruptions.
“We deeply empathize with passengers affected by this unforeseen incident and are working diligently to minimize disruptions.”
Air Peace reiterated its commitment to safety, stressing that passenger welfare remains a top priority.
