Ughelli Council Resolves Transcorp–Ekrerhavwe Dispute
The Ughelli North Local Government Council has successfully resolved a longstanding dispute between Transcorp Power Plc and the Ekrerhavwe Community in Delta State.
The resolution followed the intervention of Council Chairman, Jaro Egbo, during a meeting convened by the Ughelli North Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee.
The dispute, which centred on alleged non-recognition and unpaid community benefits, was addressed at a meeting held at the council chairman’s office.
As part of the agreement reached, the Ekrerhavwe Community was formally recognised as an autonomous community.
The council also directed Transcorp Power Plc to settle all outstanding benefits owed to the community without delay.
Both parties agreed to reconvene in one month to review compliance and ensure full implementation of the resolutions.
Representatives of Transcorp Power Plc present at the meeting expressed readiness to comply fully with the decisions reached.
