Salah Reports for Liverpool Training as Exit Rumours Intensify

Mohamed Salah turned up for Liverpool training on Tuesday as uncertainty surrounding his future at Anfield continued to mount.

The Egypt international was excluded from Liverpool’s Champions League squad to face Inter Milan after publicly criticising manager Arne Slot for benching him in three consecutive matches.

Salah, 33, was seen driving into the club’s Kirkby training base and later posted a photo of himself in the gym on Instagram, even as speculation about an imminent exit intensifies.

Following Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Leeds on Sunday, Salah said he felt he had been “thrown under the bus” and claimed he no longer had a relationship with Slot. The comments sparked immediate reports that he could leave in January despite signing a new contract in April.

Saudi clubs are reportedly preparing fresh approaches for the forward, who has scored 250 goals for Liverpool since joining from Roma in 2017.

When asked on Monday in Milan whether Salah had played his last game for the club, Slot said:
“I have no clue. I cannot answer that question at this point in time. He has every right to feel what he feels, but he doesn’t have the right to share it with the media.”

Salah, unused even as a substitute at Elland Road, is expected to leave for the Africa Cup of Nations after this weekend’s home match against Brighton.

He expressed frustration over his recent bench role, saying:
“I got a lot of promises in the summer and so far I am on the bench for three games so I can’t say they keep the promise.”

He added:
“I said many times before that, I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why but it seems to me, how I see it, that someone doesn’t want me in the club.”

The controversy comes during a poor season for both Salah and Liverpool. The Reds have won only four of their last 15 matches in all competitions and sit 13th in their Champions League group after a heavy 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven.

In the Premier League, the reigning champions are 10th, while Salah has struggled for form, scoring just four goals in 13 appearances.

Despite the dip, Salah remains one of Liverpool’s greatest players, helping the club win two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy during his illustrious spell.

Whether he remains beyond January now hangs in the balance.
