BREAKING: Oliver Glasner Confirms He Will Leave Crystal Palace in June
Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner has confirmed he will leave the club in June 2026 when his contract expires and will not sign a new deal, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The Austrian manager informed the club months ago that he is seeking a “new challenge” beyond Selhurst Park.
Glasner’s decision brings a dramatic turn in Palace’s managerial plans less than a year after guiding the Eagles to historic success including the club’s first major trophy with their 2025 FA Cup win. Despite the achievements, talks over a contract extension reportedly stalled as Glasner expressed a desire for a fresh project.
The 51-year-old’s current deal runs until June 30, 2026, and while Palace’s hierarchy are said to value his work, they respect his decision to pursue opportunities elsewhere. Sources say Glasner already communicated his intentions privately earlier in the season, meaning no new contract talks are expected to change his mind.
Crystal Palace are understood to be making contingency plans, with several managerial candidates being monitored as potential successors. The club’s chairman has previously expressed a wish to retain Glasner, noting his impact on the team’s performance, but the manager’s preference for a “new challenge” appears decisive.
Palace will now face the task of appointing a new head coach to take the club forward in the Premier League, after previously achieving notable progress under Glasner’s leadership.
