Nigeria @ 65: Federal Government Unveils Anniversary Theme
The Federal Government has unveiled the official theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebration: “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”
The announcement was made in a statement on Wednesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
Imohiosen explained that the theme reflects the need for unity, collaboration, and patriotism across government institutions, the private sector, civil society, and citizens to foster peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
He added that the choice of theme highlights Nigeria’s resilience since independence in 1960 and emphasizes the importance of building on past achievements while pursuing greater national goals under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Government ministries, agencies, and partners have been directed to align their programmes with the anniversary theme to ensure nationwide resonance.
As part of the activities marking the 65th anniversary, a Juma’at prayer will be held on Friday, September 26, followed by an interdenominational church service on Sunday, September 28. The celebrations will also feature a World Press Conference scheduled for Monday, September 29, in Abuja.
The Federal Government assured Nigerians that the milestone anniversary will serve as a reminder of the collective responsibility of citizens in shaping a stronger and more prosperous nation.
