Delta Begins 2025 Scholarship Disbursement For Orphans, Students With Disabilities
The Delta State Government has commenced the disbursement of the 2025 scholarship awards to children of deceased civil servants and students living with disabilities across the state.
The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board announced the development in a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Godfrey Enita, noting that the exercise follows approval from Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to the board, the disbursement will run from Tuesday, May 19, 2026 to Friday, May 29, 2026, within which eligible beneficiaries are expected to access their payments.
The scheme is designed to provide educational support for vulnerable students, particularly children of deceased civil servants and persons living with disabilities, in line with the state government’s commitment to inclusive education and social welfare.
The board emphasized that the initiative is part of efforts to reduce financial burdens on affected families and ensure continued access to education for all beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries and members of the public seeking clarification have been advised to contact designated officers for assistance. Enquiries relating to children of deceased civil servants should be directed to Patricia Olie on 0811 181 2898, while issues concerning students with disabilities should be addressed to Chinedu Uwabuofu on 0806 477 5373.
