Delta First Lady Inaugurates Tobore Oborevwori Cottage Hospital in Ughelli
The wife of the Governor of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, on Tuesday inaugurated the Tobore Oborevwori Cottage Hospital in Ughelli North Local Government Area, describing the naming of the facility after her as a profound honour.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the governor’s wife expressed deep appreciation to the Ughelli North council authorities for the recognition. She said the new hospital symbolises meaningful progress in delivering accessible and affordable healthcare to residents of the area.
Deaconess Oborevwori commended the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Barr. Jaro Egbo, and his team for initiating a project that directly benefits grassroots communities. She noted that the hospital would support activities of her pet project, the You Matter Charity Foundation Medical and ease the burden on vulnerable individuals who struggle to afford medical services.
She emphasized that the project aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, pointing to the administration’s ongoing infrastructural development, including the ongoing construction of Otovwodo Flyover, as evidence of government’s commitment to improving lives across Delta State. She urged the council chairman to sustain people-focused programmes that uplift the poor and strengthen democratic dividends.
Deaconess Oborevwori also called on healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to protect and maintain the facility. According to her, those serving in the hospital are on a “divine assignment” and must carry out their duties with empathy, excellence, and dedication.
She further encouraged other local government councils across the state to emulate Ughelli North’s example, stressing that community-driven development is essential for expanding access to quality healthcare. She prayed that the hospital becomes a beacon of hope, helping ensure that good health becomes a right and not a privilege for all Deltans.
