18th Headies Music Awards Postponed to April 2027

Organisers of Nigeria’s premier music award show, The Headies, have announced the postponement of the 18th edition of the event. Originally scheduled to take place on October 23, 2026, the grand finale has now been rescheduled to April 10 and 11, 2027, in Toronto, Canada.

Making the announcement through an official statement on their verified social media platforms, the organisers explained that the schedule adjustment will allow them to expand the pre-award “Road to The Headies” programme across both Nigeria and Canada. The extended schedule is designed to feature workshops, seminars, and industry engagements aimed at building momentum for the main ceremony.

Despite the delay of the main awards night, event managers confirmed that all scheduled pre-award activities will continue during the original event window. The upcoming sessions will bring together key players, stakeholders, and artists from across the recording and creative industries.

The organisers expressed regret to guests, nominees, and partners who had already made travel and accommodation arrangements, promising to share updated event schedules and guest guidelines across their official channels in the coming days.
